The objective of this constitutional text was to destroy the post-independence republican units and put an end to the unique condition of equal citizenship, dividing us into a multitude of ethnic groups, real or imaginary, that turn us into a soup of unconnected and conflicting alphabets.

The liberal qualities of republican unity and citizen equality were thrown overboard by the Political Constitution of the State of the MAS of 2009, whose first incongruous article declares Bolivia as a “Social Unitary State of Plurinational Community Law” (¿?). Central to the purpose of unity is the condition of equal citizenship before the law, making us all, in our case, Bolivian citizens without differentiation. Likewise, the unitary ideal became the strategic objective to consolidate these young republics. Simón Bolívar, the Liberator, whose name we Bolivians adopted to ensure our independence, was fundamentally a man of liberal thought, whose legacy was to leave us liberal republics, in which the libertarian ideal made freedom the cornerstone of our social genetics.

Argentina and Mexico are contributing semi-colonies and it remains to be seen what will happen to big brother Brazil. We have lost the Republic of Bolivia and in our bicentennial of 2025 we will no longer have independence to celebrate!īolivia is today a political colony, a vassal State of the Russian-Cuban orbit together with Venezuela and Nicaragua Ecuador has half managed to extricate itself, while Chile and Colombia are entering the status of neo-colonial countries.
